About the PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme
At CII Institute of Hospitality, we believe that financial constraints should not stand in the way of a student's ambition to build a rewarding career.
The Pradhan Mantri Vidyalaxmi (PM-Vidyalaxmi) Scheme, launched by the Government of India, provides financial support to meritorious students pursuing higher education in identified Quality Higher Educational Institutions (QHEIs).
Under the scheme, eligible students can access a collateral-free and guarantor-free education loan through a simple, transparent, and fully digital application process. The loan can cover eligible educational expenses such as tuition and course fees, hostel and mess expenses, books, equipment, a reasonable-quality laptop, and other approved costs.
Key Benefits
Collateral-Free & Guarantor-Free
Eligible students admitted on merit to identified Quality Higher Educational Institutions can apply for education loans without collateral or a guarantor, subject to applicable scheme and bank conditions.
Flexible Repayment
The education loan repayment period may extend up to 15 years, excluding the moratorium period, which generally covers the course duration plus one year.
Who Can Benefit?
The scheme is designed for students who secure merit-based admission to identified Quality Higher Educational Institutions (QHEIs) in India. Important Admission through management quota or similar quota is not eligible under the PM-Vidyalaxmi education-loan benefit.

Documents Generally Required
Students may be required to provide documents such as:
- Class X & XII / last qualifying marksheets
- Proof of admission
- Fee / expense schedule issued by institution
- Income certificate / proof of family income
- Student photograph
- Other documents required by bank/scheme
